When you pay online at GotYouCovered, you’re briefly redirected to PayFast to complete payment securely. This is normal for many South African online stores and is designed to keep payment processing in the hands of a trusted payment gateway that specialises in secure transactions.
Step-by-Step: What Happens When You Pay

You place your order on GotYouCovered
You add items to your cart, enter delivery details, and click Place Order. Your order is created so we can reserve items and generate an order number.
Good to know: No card details are entered at this stage.

You’re redirected to PayFast to pay
You’ll be sent to PayFast’s secure payment page to complete payment. This step exists so that sensitive payment details are handled by the payment gateway – not stored or processed on our site.
Seeing PayFast during checkout is expected – they specialise in payment processing and security. -
PayFast processes your payment securely
Your card/EFT details are submitted on PayFast’s payment page. Depending on your bank and payment method, you may be asked to confirm the payment (for example, an OTP / 3D Secure step).
This extra verification is there to protect you and help prevent unauthorised payments.

You return to our site + the order updates
After payment, you’re sent back to GotYouCovered. Your order status updates automatically based on the payment result.

Your order moves forward for processing and delivery.
↩️ Payment cancelled
Your order is cancelled and your items usually remain in your cart so you can try again.
⏳ Payment pending
If a payment isn’t completed, the order can stay pending until it expires or is cancelled.
